THE RESULTS OF INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION 2008
THE "16th INTERNATIONAL WINE COMPETITION" RETURNS TO VERONA WITH MANY IMPORTANT INNOVATIONS FOR AWARD-WINNING WINES
Appointment in Verona 26-30 March 2008 for the 16th International Wine Competition, the event organised by VeronaFiere involving 21 juries made up of leading international journalists and qualified oenologists (for a total of 105 experts) called upon to assess samples from 31 countries.
These facts and figures for the 2007 edition confirmed the Competition as the most popular in the world: 1,103 companies took part and 3,507 wines were assessed.
Already an ideal opportunity for visibility, promotion and sensorial assessment of wines, as of this year the Competition will increasingly be a vital tool for commercial promotion.
Companies winning Grand Gold Medals, Gold Medals, Silver Medals and Bronze Medals will already have the opportunity during Vinitaly 2008 (Verona, 03 ? 07 April 2008) to promote their wines within the scope of a new space dedicated to award-winning companies.
Lastly, the first effective objective achieved thanks to the international activities of Vinitaly Tour will see the ISETAN distribution chain set up, in its points of sale in Japan, a corner with a selection of wines taking awards in the Wine Competition; producers will also be contacted by the agents of the chain to define eventual commercial relationships.
All categories open to participation, as well as the assessment methods and the awards made, are detailed in the Regulations
